How to use OddGrooves drum loops with Toontrack EZdrummer
EDIT April 22, 2012: We got some questions regarding the installation process and it seems there is an easier way. Here goes:
In EZdrummer, first click on the Help menu (question mark in the upper right corner), then choose User MIDI Folder and navigate up one level (this is important) to the folder simply called MIDI. That’s where you should put any third party MIDI files.
To get the OddGrooves folder in place, drag it into the EZdrummer grooves MIDI folder.
Done!
One of GarageBand 10‘s key features, the Drummer track actually debuted in Apple’s premium recording program – Logic Pro X – first. While the Drummer track interface can look a little daunting at first, I’m happy to report that once you’ve gotten over that initial learning curve, the Drummer track is an incredibly useful tool. Garageband 10’s Drummer track is brilliant, isn’t it? It’s the next best thing to actually recording an actual drummer playing on an actual drum kit. I find myself using it much more than any other of Garageband’s features. Turns out you lovely Garageband Guide readers like it just as much as I do! Virtual drum plugins like EZ Drummer are powerful tools – assuming you know how to leverage them to build custom performances for your song. Currently I’m in the process of producing my latest EP as a solo artist and this time around I’m using EZ Drummer to play my drum tracks. I can’t get EZDrummer working with Garageband 10.3.2. Other Plugins are working, but EzDrummer doesn’t show up as AU Unit. Already tried to delete the Cache Files, but it’s still won’t be detected. I can also confirm that there is a EZdrummer.component in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/ along with my other Plugin (which works fine).
